When are maternity/newborn/Cake Smash sessions scheduled?
Maternity sessions take place between 32 and 36 weeks. They should be booked in the early second trimester, typically at 20 weeks. Newborn sessions should be booked before you enter the third trimester but ideally are bundled with your maternity session (and get that bonus discount!). They take place 5-21 days after your successful delivery. Cake smash takes place 4-5 weeks before your child’s first birthday and is scheduled 8-10 weeks in advance. It is strongly encourages that your cake smash occurs before your child is walking.
Do sessions have to be at your studio? Why? Can you travel to my home for my session?
All sessions take place in my climate-controlled studio. This guarantees consistent results. I can also guarantee that all of my props and equipment stay sanitized, and that your family as well as my own stay safe. During the current pandemic, North Carolina Secretary of State nor the Department of Revenue have given permission to photographers to enter private homes. (Current as of 11/7/2020)
Are gowns/props included with the session fee?
YES! Your session fee not only covers the planning, shooting time, and ordering appointment, but it also includes exclusive access to all of our props and gowns. For your maternity session you’re able to choose up to three of your favorite dresses to wear. You can even come to the studio to try them on in advance. All props and textiles are provided from the studio and outside “street clothes” will not be photographed. A sentimental item may be included if time and baby allow.
