I had the pleasure of working with Mercedes, who joined me in Charlotte for a stunning studio maternity session. With her husband's beautiful burnt orange suit as inspiration, we set out to capture the essence of her personal style and create a vision that would truly come to life.
Mercedes was unsure of exactly what she wanted for her maternity session, but when she mentioned her husband's burnt orange suit and described her decorating style, the ideas began to flow effortlessly in my mind. I knew that incorporating this vibrant color into the shoot would result in breathtaking images.

To Mercedes' surprise, I had arranged for gorgeous orange monarch butterflies to be present during the session. It turned out that unbeknownst to me, butterflies were the theme of her upcoming baby shower. This unexpected connection added a meaningful touch to the photographs, as butterflies are also symbolic of twin loss and renewal. They are said to represent the souls of loved ones who have been lost.
For the backdrop, I opted for a combination of gold, rust, and black tones, which created a timeless and elegant setting for the maternity portraits. The creamy and nude colors chosen for the additional elements added a sense of beauty that transcends the seasons, ensuring that the photographs would remain stunning all year round.
